I am still thinking about how you valued her story. And how things move behind the scenes in real-time and how it matters. Also, I looked up the definition of the word anachronistic and I am glad to now have that in my library, very useful. Also the trees having grown is an important detail. Thanks for sharing!
We have similar memories of that day: driving to Newsday on a beautiful day, until it turned into a tragic day. Now we get a chance to write about it from the perspective of a quarter century.
Thank you Richard. I am still in the trauma of the Eaton-Altadena fire. We lost everything and the rebuild has just started this week. It will be a long slog with not enough insurance coverage and a huge SBA loan payment that covers most of the rest but not all.
The scale of the 9-11 trauma might be greater for many, but it is still deep for thousands of us out here.
Thank you Richard. A long while back I did not know anything about you when you hit Like on some of my comments. I grew up on history and archeology, The books my grandmother gave me to learn how to read from. Three years old and still soaking it up. With the 9/11 rehash happenng all around us, I told those on Joyce Vances note this mornng that my first thought, upon watching the second impact that morning was
"The chickens come home to roost". That's what history tells us.
